Jade Bathersby has had a wealth of experience within her career, meeting the needs of staff and students from rural and metropolitan setting.
Her digital journey began whilst teaching at Doomadgee State School as a teacher librarian and classroom teacher.
As well as her core teaching and learning roles, Jade was a key driver in providing support for the technology curriculum integration for both staff and students. Jade’s transfer to Kawana Waters State College enabled her to develop her digital leadership as a Digital Technologies Curriculum Mentor for staff and then a Curriculum Leader within the Primary sector.
Working with key staff from both the Primary and Secondary campuses, Jade has been able to lead the effective integration of the College’s BYOX program in the P-6 setting resulting in a 95% take-up and usage. Throughout this process, Jade has worked with staff to map the curriculum and resources across and through the curriculum to ensure the seamless integration of the tools as part of the curriculum.
In late 2018, more specific resource needs were identified to address digital technologies requirements in the upper primary and lower secondary sectors, and Jade was part of the solution, becoming an TETRIX Certified Trainer in 2019 in order to lead the development of real world teaching and learning opportunities for the staff and students.
