This student book is a study of TS Eliot’s poetry. It has been designed to fulfill the requirements of the NSW Stage 6 English Year 12 Module B: Critical Study of Literature.
Throughout this book, students have the opportunity to engage in an enjoyable and detailed study of TS Eliot’s poetry that will improve their critical knowledge, understanding, and appreciation of the poems as literary texts.
In order to develop their own interpretation of the TS Eliot’s poetry, students will engage in a variety of activities that require them to respond in both critical and creative ways. These activities will improve their understanding of the content of the poems, the ideas and issues the poems encourage audiences to think about, the language used, and the way the poems have been structured.
Students will also learn how to support their judgements about the poems with evidence, along with developing their understanding of scholarly perspectives gathered from further independent research.
